The catalyst that made me decide to make this website is that making websites is fun, awesome and I will take literally any excuse to talk about rocks.

It's entirely hand-written, no templates no site-builders absolutely none of that. I started with a blank html file and ended with a html file that had things in it. I'd consider myself “coder-brained” and that translates to me endeavouring to make the site code as efficient as possible, such as by minimising the CSS rules I use and commenting to an unreasonable degree. This does not apply to Javascript, because I do not know Javascript.

I set up a simple media query so that things are shuffled around to be useable on a mobile phone. The experience isn't the best, but I'm not averse to making my site unpalatable to psychopaths who browse NeoCities on their phones.

In terms of design philosophy, the only real one is that I want my site to be entirely self-contained. If NeoCities goes the way of the dodo then I can just drag the files elsewhere. Link rot may hit external links but these can at least be freely removed.

If you'd like to add my site's button to yours then you can find it on the homepage. I'd recommend not hot linking the file because, even though I would only be plundered of 2 kilobytes of bandwidth, I shift the backend files around like there's no tomorrow.
